Valley junior quarterback Jason Hardy threw for 230 yards and two scores while also running for 166 yards and two more scores Friday night in the Vikings' 60-20 road win over the Kamiah Kubs.
Hardy spent time in the lineup last fall as a sophomore after an injury to starting quarterback Mike Elorietta but still entered his junior season as a bit of an unknown around much of the state.
No more.

Through two wins, Hardy is 41 of 57 (72 percent) passing with six touchdowns and two interceptions. In the win over Kamiah, he also ran the ball for 166 yards and two scores.
He has a quality supporting cast, including the likes of Kodi Burk (20 carries, 128 yards, 1 TD vs. Kamiah), Zane Mussman (89 yards receiving, 2 scores vs. Kamiah) and Alex Korom (85 yards from scrimmage on offense vs. Kamiah), but it's the young quarterback that has people talking about the Vikings as a legitimate 1A Division 1 state title contender.
Valley travels to Shoshone on Friday, September 8, to take on the Indians.
